Inpatient experience
Tucson Medical Center is a nonprofit, community hospital that is the largest hospital in Southern Arizona. TMC has been a teaching hospital for more than 50 years and is home of Southern Arizona’s first residency programs.Our Cath Lab Suite at TMC consists of seven catheterization rooms, a state-of-the-art Stereotaxis electrophysiology suite and two hybrid cath-lab suites. The Cath Lab is equipped to perform assessment of total heart function including the evaluation of coronary artery disease, electrophysiology/ablation procedures, as well as many other therapeutic procedures.The TMC Structural Heart Team includes technologists, nurses, care navigators and physicians who are highly-trained, experienced and skilled. The team works together to plan and complete each procedure, providing the utmost in patient care using some of the most advanced technologies available.The TMC Structural Heart Program focuses on treating heart valve disease, patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defects.Clinical rotation at Pima Heart & Vascular, the largest privately owned and operated cardiovascular practice in Arizona, specializing in internal medicine, general, interventional and structural cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiothoracic surgery and vascular surgery.Program Highlights

- High-volume program with > 250 TAVR, > 100 Mitral TEER, and > 350 Watchman performed annually
- Exposure to > 30 structural heart trials, including CHAMPION AF, REPAIR MR, ALIGN AR, PROGRESS, STITCH, TRILUMINATE, SAVE
- Exposure to early feasibility studies, including HighLife, Laminar, ShortCut, Stitch TR
- Over 280 SHD investigational implants
