The mission of the THMEP Internal Medicine Residency Program is to produce well-educated, community-minded internists who deliver effective, high-value and compassionate care while promoting individual and societal wellness within our culturally diverse population. Our three-year program is designed to train well rounded internal medicine physicians. The program accepts six PGY-1 residents annually with a full complement of 18 residents over three years from the initial cohort. Hospitalists, intensivists and emergency medicine physicians provide structured education and one-on-one clinical supervision within the hospital. Clinical faculty also includes office-based community internists and various subspecialists, who provide education in the hospital and in the community. In addition to a flexible curriculum, residents have the ability to choose a number of elective rotations during the program, allowing for training that is unique to their career goals and educational needs.Residents are encouraged to spend time in the community and are supported in creating an education that will best serve their needs in becoming outstanding physicians.
