TMCで製薬業界でのキャリアをスタートさせましょう
TMCファーマシーレジデンシープログラム(PGY1)は1993年に始まりました。6月中旬から始まる12ヶ月間のレジデンシーには、4つのレジデンシーポジションがあります。このプログラムは、American Society of Health-System Pharmacistsの認定を受けており、ASHP Midyear Residency ShowcaseおよびASHP Resident Matching Programの一部です。
レジデント向けの教育機会には、コミュニティに焦点を当てたTMCの教員免許、または学術に焦点を当てたアリゾナ大学薬学部の教員免許が含まれます。また、メンタリングとプレセプティング、ケーススタディ、トピックディスカッション、患者プレゼンテーションの促進、入院患者の薬局、看護スタッフ、補助スタッフ、およびコミュニティへの教育的なインサービスの提供もあります。正式な1時間の継続教育講義が、薬局と医療スタッフに提供されます。
人員配置は隔週で必要であり、中央検証と臨床業務の両方が含まれます。

レジデンシープログラムは、の管轄下にありますTMC健康医療教育プログラム(THMEP)は、1963年にツーソン病院医学教育プログラムとして設立され、ツーソンメディカルセンターおよび地域全体で大学院および継続医学教育プログラムを実施しています。THMEPは、アリゾナ州南部地域における大学院および継続医学教育の主要なプロバイダーです。薬局レジデンシープログラムに加えて、内科、小児科、足病学、移行レジデンシー、構造心臓および臨床研究フェローシップを監督しています。

Claudia Koreny, PharmD

Claudia L. Koreny graduated from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in 2001. She has been with TMC since 1993, starting as a pharmacy volunteer before being hired as a pharmacy technician. After graduation from pharmacy school, she worked as a clinical pharmacist in several areas, with her primary focus in nutrition support. In 2008, she became manager of Pharmacy Operations and was named director of Pharmacy Services in 2018. She is actively involved with numerous TMC committees.
Samantha Low, PharmD, BCPS
Director Oncology Services
Samantha Low is the director of Oncology Services and the outgoing residency program director at Tucson Medical Center. She graduated from Midwestern University – College of Pharmacy, Glendale, in 2006. She completed her PGY1 at Tucson Medical Center. Sam has varied clinical pharmacy experience, including adult surgery, critical care, nutrition support and informatics. Samantha was a clinical coordinator prior to transitioning into her current role.
James Epley, PharmD
Clinical Coordinator, Incoming Residency Program Dir
James Epley is one of the Clinical Coordinators at Tucson Medical Center and the incoming residency program director. James attended Oregon State University where he graduated in 2022 and completed his residency at TMC in 2023. He has stayed with the organization and has variable clinical experience including adult medicine, adult surgery, intensive care and cardiac before transitioning into the clinical coordinator role.
Sujung Feilen, PharmD
Clinical Coordinator
Sujung Feilen is a clinical coordinator at Tucson Medical Center. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 2012. Her diverse clinical experience with various hospitals includes working in Pediatric/NICU/PICU, L&D, emergency room, operating rooms, Neuro ICU, adult medicine, oncology and IV room/nutrition support, in addition to her current role in clinical coordination.
Alex Cannon, PharmD, BCPS

Alex Cannon graduated from Loma Linda University in 2021. She completed her PGY-1 at Tucson Medical Center in 2022 and remained on staff afterwards. She is the Adult Medicine Clinical Specialist. She precepts residents in Adult Medicine and Multidisciplinary Acute Care.
David Lazo, PharmD, BCPS
Adult Cardiology
David Lazo graduated from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy in 2013. He completed his PGY1 at Tucson Medical Center from 2013-14 and has stayed on as a clinical pharmacist. He is the main preceptor for the Adult Cardiology rotation. He has received many service awards within TMC.

Katrina Kittell, PharmD
Adult Surgical and Residency Coordinator
Katrina Kittell graduated from the UA College of Pharmacy in 2014. She completed her PGY-1 at HonorHealth-Scottsdale and remained on staff for an additional two years specializing in critical care and adult medicine before moving on to other opportunities. Katrina has been a part of the TMC team since 2021, precepts residents in Adult Surgery and has become the residency coordinator.

Intensive Care
Maggi Beach graduated from Midwestern University College of Pharmacy - Glendale in 2008. She completed a PGY1 residency at TMC and stayed. She works primarily in the ICU and is the primary preceptor for the Critical Care rotation. Outside the ICU, she instituted clinical pharmacy services for TMC Hospice in 2009.

Brian Strang, PharmD, BCNSP, FASPEN
Nutrition Support Team
Brian Strang is a clinical pharmacy specialist in Nutrition Support and has been at TMC since graduating from the UA College of Pharmacy in 2004. He is the primary resident preceptor for the Nutrition Support elective rotation and helps to coordinate the Pharmacy Resident Clinical and Community Teaching and Learning Certificate Program. He has worked in all clinical areas since starting at TMC and currently focuses on nutrition support and hospice. Since 2006, Brian has been actively involved with the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, National Board of Nutrition Support Certification, American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and has held numerous national positions within several of these organizations.

Andrew Romero, PharmD
Informatics
Andrew Romero graduated from the UA College of Pharmacy in 2003. He has more than 10 years of experience in implementing and managing health information systems in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He also works to develop drug libraries and reduce alert fatigue on smart pump systems such as Alaris and Sapphire. Romero is a preceptor for a Pharmacy Informatics rotation where residents learn about managing Epic Willow (inpatient pharmacy system), Alaris smart pumps and Pyxis, and learn Excel data analysis skills.
